Led by Women, for Women: CODE RED Campaign

What is CODE RED?

CODE RED is more than a campaign; it’s an urgent call to action. The term “CODE RED” is used to highlight emergencies, and period poverty is exactly that—an urgent issue affecting millions worldwide. CODE RED, an initiative led by GRT, seeks to end period poverty by ensuring access to essential menstrual products, raising awareness, and breaking down stigmas around menstrual health.

Period poverty isn’t only about the inability to afford products; it’s also about confronting the silence, shame, and lack of education surrounding menstruation. This campaign advocates for individuals facing financial hardship, both locally and globally, by tackling the significant barriers they encounter in managing their menstrual health with dignity.

The CODE RED Campaign Goals

1. Raising Awareness: CODE RED sheds light on the struggles faced by those impacted by period poverty, including the lack of access to menstrual products, inadequate hygiene, and the resulting effects on education, employment, and social involvement.

2. Providing Essential Resources: The campaign raises funds to provide menstrual products to communities in need and promotes initiatives for free access to these necessities, ensuring no one goes without basic menstrual health support.

3. Breaking Stigma and Educating Communities: By encouraging open dialogue and offering menstrual health education, CODE RED aims to dismantle the harmful stigma around menstruation, fostering a culture of understanding and support.

4. Engaging Local Communities: CODE RED invites individuals, schools, and businesses to participate by organizing fundraisers, spreading awareness, and hosting local events to support the campaign.

5. Building Strategic Partnerships: Working with charities, non-profit organisations, and healthcare providers, CODE RED helps distribute products, deliver education, and support research into solutions for period poverty.

6. Mobilizing Digital Advocacy: Through social media, CODE RED shares impactful stories, facts, and calls to action, encouraging people worldwide to advocate for policy changes and sustainable solutions.

Global Relief Trust’s Promise: Sustainable Solutions through Reusable Pads

At GRT, we believe sustainable solutions are key to long-term change. That’s why we’re championing the use of reusable pads—a cost-effective, eco-friendly answer to period poverty. By combining education, local production, and partnerships, this approach brings broad benefits:

·        Empowering individuals and communities with the tools to manage menstrual health sustainably,

·        Supporting environmental sustainability by reducing waste, and

·        Driving economic development through local manufacturing.

Reusable pads provide a practical, lasting solution to period poverty. GRT is committed to making the CODE RED Campaign a movement for lasting impact—advocating for access to menstrual products, reducing stigma, and promoting policies that ensure everyone has the dignity and resources they deserve.

Join us in creating a world where period poverty no longer exists. Together, we can make a difference.
